Stole my damn rear tow cover off my car. If I find out who did it i'm gonna throttle them something fierce.  Shocked

I live in Seattle and one day I go out to my car and my rear tow cover is missing. I thought I lost it from driving to spokane (part vibrated out or something) so I took It to university Audi  to have it replaced under warranty and the Jerk off auto technician basically called me a liar and said "you gotta hit the car pretty hard for those to come out" and then wouldn't even look me in the eye or talk to me. WTF. University Audi SUCKS and so does the jackhole who stole the part outta my car. I have bought two cars from University Audi and this is how they treat their clientele? They don't even take a loyal customers word on something? WTF? I am calling Audi of America.

I don't want to say University is right in what they did or said, but you have to understand it like this.  Lets say someone stole your front grille, and you went to an Audi dealership, would you expect them to replace that for free?

it would have been a very nice gesture if they did replace it , but they don't need to or have to...  it's not a warranty item...

Sorry to hear it man. University sucks. Your first mistake was buying two cars
From them.

But yeah, the tow hook isn't a warranty item if it were to fall out.

Sorry to hear this, but I don't believe stolen parts are covered by the factory warranty but your insurance company.

I don't really think they're out of line saying this isn't warranty issue. You're right, they do suck and have an incredibly horrible service department. (And those who frequent here know I don't talk like that often.)

I'd do some research and see if anyone else has reported these things falling out. If someone stole it, it's not really Audi's responsibility to replace it for free.

I do know u audi will deny many warranty claims that other audi dealers cover. When I had a CPO car, they did lie to me multiple times about multiple issues. I think one time I counted six lies on one day. Sometimes it's been small stuff like "is my car being worked on yet?" and they say "yes, it's on the rack and just about done" and then later I check back in, "no, it hasn't even gone on the rack yet." Sometimes it's bigger stuff like what the warranty covers and things like what the expiration date on my warranty was.

Just to clarify, I had believed that the tow hook cover popped out on it's own when I first approached U Audi. Even the parts guy said something to the effect of "yeah, we stock these because we have been selling quite a few, they must just pop out on their own."

It wasn't until after my 2nd interaction with the service tech did I start to think that maybe someone had stolen the part because he was so rigid in his belief that your car has to get hit pretty hard for those to pop out (and there is no othe damage whatsoever to my bumper).

On the B6, there's a plastic cable secures the cover to the bumper. I think A3 should have that too?

speculating what happens and actually konwing what happens are two different things.  U Audi can say whatever they want, but unless you have it in writing, you don't really have a case.  Next time ask the parts guy to write what he is saying and use this as your case...

Other than that, just buy a new one, get it painted and move on...

It has it on the Front tow cover but not the Rear. Design flaw.  Undecided

Extremely true of the u audi service department. You also have to make sure it's on the final paperwork when you pickup the car. I had one issue I brought my car in for several times. Finally I wasn't going to take their "well, we can't reproduce the problem" anymore, especially because they weren't following my instructions on how to reproduce it. I brought up how many times I'd brought it in and they said there was no record of those. While they typed it all in when I dropped the car off, they just erased that part on the final paperwork since they couldn't determine if there was a problem or not. I guess that final paperwork is all the system keeps.
